10 awesome celebrity computer ads from the 1980s
Some celebrity commercials work wonders for a company (think William Shatner’s quirky Priceline spots) and others make for a perplexing and uncomfortable 30 seconds ( Jerry Seinfeld’s disastrous Microsoft gig, anyone?).
AdWeek has done us all a favor and collected 10 celebrity computer commercials from the 1980s that offer examples of the good, the bad and the total noggin scratching. The clips include Phil Hartman for Activision, some wrestler that looks like a potato dressed in a spandex onesie for Headstart Computer and a dorky looking Bill Cosby for Texas Instruments. Totally awesome.
