10 pranks that caused widespread chaos
It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye…or you spark widespread panic. Like the BBC program called Ghostwatch, which aired Halloween of 1992. Shot in a documentary style, the show was realistic enough to convince viewers that the crew was being haunted, and harmed, by a malevolent ghost called Mr. Pipes. Viewers everywhere were traumatized, and one even committed suicide! Needless to say, the show was banned.
Then there’s the epic prank that occurred in the UK in 1976. Someone managed to hack into a television program and deliver a message from “Vrillon” from the “Ashtar Galactic Command” and scare viewers into thinking that something terrible was happening. See the rest at the full story.
