Doctors recommend that you only drink one to two cups a day. They say coffee has many health benefits. But more than two cups and it can cause other issues. Remember, take things in moderation is very healthy. Just don't do things in excess. Come on, more is NOT better.

I agree with Captain Jack :o) It's about moderation. Otherwise we'd end up not eating or drinking anything. It's also about weighing up how much are you willing to give up for the discomfort you'll experience...

This is an excellent summary of caffeine and its effects. Having worked with the tea industry for >10 years, I found it accurate and up to date. Caffeine has plusses & minusses - it all depends on the dose you ingest. One or two coffees a day is fine. Any more has side-effects eg insomnia, stomach upsets, cardiac arrhythmia. Think of the reports of cardiac arrests after overdoing the energy drinks on clubbing nights! Well done! Cheers Catherine

I'm afraid I've seen the "flip side" of caffeine use—yes, even in "moderate" amounts. I'd rather see people find a healthier substitutes (like Teecino or herbal matte) and save the coffee for an occasional "treat." Long term effects on the adrenals (not to mention belly fat) can be quite disconcerting.

Moderation is the name of the game. If coffee is giving you an upset stomach - try a healthier alternative - Water Joe! I drink it. It's all natural and the water it's made with is great quality!

I personally do not drink caffeine, but I think this new information makes sense. As it has been said "Moderation is key.

Coffee vs energy drinks: caffeine is naturally-occurring in coffee, guarana is topped up with ADDED caffeine in energy drinks (to comply with the claims they make). Check out the list of ingredients on the can next time you're at the supermarket - you'll find BOTH guarana and caffeine listed. Their technical definition is "formulated sweetened beverages". Not so cooll huh?

I think its a great start. It presents information in an easy to read way, but only presents one side without mentioning the negative side effects. Personally, i think of caffeine as an 'extra' as it is not strictly necessary to stay alive (although some people may think they will die without it!)
