It’d be nice if they offered a more personal URL than a string of 15 or so numbers! Other than that, it’s definitely on its way.
The Google Plus aesthetic also feels a bit clinical and masculine (even "bland"); I’m sure that’s influencing the sausage-fest with roughly 70% male users vs. 29% female. It’s curious that Google seems to go after dudes first, then circle back to pickup the female demo: if you look at their product rollout and massive ad campaign for the Google Android phone, or "DROID!" [insert robotic sounding voice] any objective viewer would think the ads were designed exclusively for the 8-14 year old testosterone filled teen male crowd! They would spin it around and sharpen it in light….the damn thing looked like a weapon!
Lately however they’ve softened their approach no doubt to pickup more than the 3 girls who owned droids by choice, and the 8 that were given them by their high school BF’s.
I look forward to seeing Google+’s aesthetic and UI "soften" a bit. I think it’s prone to be a significant contender in the social platform marketplace.
