26% of mobile apps used only once

How many times have you actually added a moustache to a picture snapped with your fuzzy phone camera? Or rolled out the gassy sounds of an electronic whoopie cushion from your iPhone? Not often? Didn’t think so.

A study conducted by analytics firm Localytics found that 26 percent of apps downloaded to mobiles get used only one time. Experts cite several factors for the one in four single use rate: the relatively low barrier to entry of mobile apps, the plethora of apps (many free) to choose from and the ficklness of smartphone users.
