Wow, that first ad about losing a leg is HORRIBLE! It shows the world (and kids to whom this might have happened) that life comes to an end after disability. Not so. Basketball...tennis...running...all these things are possible with one leg. Woever designed that ad had a VERY poor image of people with disabilities and somehow managed never to have heard of the Paralympics!

immeemz - you missed the point of the ad. It's about banning landmines - so kids don't step on them and blow their legs off.

I didn't see a thing about landmines in that, all I saw was "disabled people can't do anything." The ad missed the mark by a mile and contributed to the stereotypes disabled people have feen fighting for decades.

I didn't even bother to read the ad because some ideas are clever and some are good. This graphic idea was clever, but did not engage me to read it. I was initially confused as to whether the lower part of the leg was simply in a cast and written on the way people do, or if the leg was lost and the "type" was filling in where the limb used to be. Anyway, I moved on.
