32% of Americans okay with behavorial advertising

32% of Americans said that they’re okay with receiving ads based on the behavorial targeting of their web-surfing and television viewing. The caveat is that collection methods do not identify them individually. I’m amazed the figure is this high.

Other tidbits of the study: 82% have never followed a brand on Twitter; 63% have never promoted a brand or become a brand fan; and 55% have never shared a link to an ad with their friends.

More on marketing.

I'm also astonished. I despise the Amazon method, and lie to things like Yahoo.

This information just reminds me of how young the internet still is... The future is very bright for the ones who are figuring out how to represent a niche and developing a personal brand.

With Google's personalized search update (http://searchengineland.com/googles-personalized-results-the-new-normal-31290) everyone that uses Google will be receiving behavioral results and the advertising to go with it.

Kinda funny that news like that (something that ~70% of the population does not want) doesn't get more exposure.
