Posted by / August 24, 2014

When Harriet Tubman died in 1913, the famous Underground Railroad conductor’s last words were, “Swing low, sweet chariot.” Moving, poignant, and dignified.  Louise-Marie-Thérèse de Saint Maurice, Comtesse de Vercellis did not have such a dignified ending. She broke wind, and then she said, “Good. A woman who can fart is not dead.” And then she died.
