After seeing some of what the players do on their day with the Cup, I'd wear gloves too!

I never thought of it that way. I thought the gloves were to protect the Cup, not the handlers!

Was at Hockey Hall of Fame a few years ago in mid SARS epidemic. My young son ran up and kissed the cup - the place stopped dead, collective gasp of horror. Never forgot it.
