A mesmerizing look at a speaking mouth

Who wouldn’t want x-ray vision? Well, until some mad scientist perfects the art of x-ray goggles, enjoy this mesmerizing, behind the scenes (and skin) look at a mouth talking. Speech researcher Christine Ericsdotter captured the image at 50 frames/second over 20 seconds with a quick-snap x-ray camera.

Oh, and an interesting tidbit: the word being spoken in the picture is “pion,” the Swedish word for peony.
