Dangling 285 feet above traffic would trigger heart palpitations and sweaty palms for most people, but for aerialist Serena Sharpe, it’s just the setting for another show. On July 11 of this year, the 24-year-old scaled New York’s Williamsburg Bridge, attached her silk ropes to the structure, and performed a dazzling act for the onlookers who gathered below.
Passersby captured the heart-stopping performance on film and that footage was stitched together for a eight minute clip documenting the aptly titled “Risk Life for Flight.”
Police apprehended Sharpe quickly after the show wrapped up, charging her with “felony reckless endangerment.”
