Amplifiear offers big iPad sound with a low-tech solution [video]
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to throw your iPad speaker in a bag and call it good without worrying about damaging your most recent investment with a misplaced foot or leaky drink? With the incredibly simple Amplifiear, that might soon be possible.
Developed by Evan Clabots of Nonlinear Studio, the very basic device “snaps on to the iPad, bouncing sound from the rearward-facing speaker back toward the user,” as EDW Lynch at Laughing Squid described it, much like a grammaphone. If and when it goes into mass production, a very durable plastic will be used for its construction making it safe to throw in a pocket, bag or drawer.

Did we mention it’s cute as a button? Well, it is. If you’re not comfortable with button analogies, consider it all the amplification a real man needs. Better?
