An entrepreneur’s life (essay)

Great/sad/true/scary/funny essay about entrepreneurial life by an “entrepreneuraholic.” If you think you’re an entrepreneur, you should read it. Come to think of it, maybe you shouldn’t.

My favorite paragraph:

Everyone talks about balance. There is no balance. Balance is perfect. There is nothing perfect in work/life balance. It is about compromise, choices and, often, regret. Here is the irony of ambition: The same ambition that drives people to be successful won’t let them enjoy being successful. They pay a terrible price for their success, as do their families, but they are never successful enough.

More help for Entrepreneurs.

I have to agree. Trying to balance everything, and there is a lot more than most realise, is one of the hardest aspects of any business. Instead of trying to balance everything, it's better to focus on those aspects that matter the most. But never neglect your family: Because if all else fails, they will be the people sitting on the other side of the see-saw, ready to hold you from falling to the ground. Well, you hope so!

Imbalance is the core of economics. And imperfection is the foundation of entrepreneurship. Without one the other is superfluous. Isn't it?

I was so deep in work, at 10pm on a Friday night. I decided to check my twitter, and thankfully you've posted something to calm my mind Guy, thanks.
