Apple introduces the world to iPad
Tech world watchers finally stopped holding their collective breath today as Steve Jobs took to the Apple Latest Creation Event stage to announce the much talked about Apple tablet. The revolutionary product’s name? The iPad.

Specs:
- .5 inches thin, 1.5 pounds with a 9.7 inch IPS display
- 10 hours of battery life
- Available with 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage
- WiFi 802.11n
- Accelerometer and compass
- Speaker, Microphone, 30-pin connector
- 1 GHz Apple A4 chip
- No replaceable battery
- No flash support
- No camera
Pricing and Availability:
- Starting at $499
- $499 for 16GB of Wi-Fi enabled iPad. 32GB is $599, 64GB is $799. 3G models cost an extra $130. $629, $729, and $829 with 3G.
- Wi-Fi model shipping in 60 days, 3G model available in 90 days
Wireless Networking:
- Every iPad has WiFi, but Apple will also offer models with 3G.
- Deal with AT&T for Wi-Fi
- No contract, it’s prepaid, so you can cancel whenever you want
- $14.99 for up to 250MB, $29.99 for unlimited
- Free use of AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots
- No international deals in place yet, an announcement on that should arrive this summer
