Artist David Choe once called Facebook “ridiculous and pointless,” but the L.A. native has likely formed a new opinion.
In 2005, Facebook commissioned Choe to paint graffiti-style murals at the company’s first headquarters in Palo Alto. Instead of paying Choe in straight up cash, the upstart social network offered to pay him with couple of thousand dollars in shares. Seven years, 700 million users, and an IPO offering later, Choe’s shares are now worth up to $200,000,000.
Not too shabby of a payday, eh?
