As the Earth burns: The view from space [video]
Despite the yearly onslaught of fire news coming out of America’s western and southwestern regions every year, it may surprise you to know that those in the Southeast and Mississippi River Valley are more visible from space.
This virtual video was composed of NASA’s satellite images from 2002-2011, which help the agency analyze the relationship between large-scale fires and population growth, climate change and air quality among other things.
