Be a leader, not a manager
The best bosses are leaders, not mere managers, says Nicholas Calio, CEO of the Air Transport Association. That means inspiring workers, taking responsibility for the company’s successes and failures, and modeling the personal integrity they expect from employees. “They speak their mind and keep their word,” Calio says. “They understand the importance of independent strategic thinking and building strong teams.”
