Big trouble in McItaly

McDonald’s new sandwich, endorsed by the Italian government, is leaving a bad taste in food critics’ mouths. Proud Italians rejected the McItaly as being unrepresentative of Italian culture. The government responded by calling the critics “ignorant Stalinists” and claimed that these same critics rejected the Italian-ness of pizza. Do you think the McItaly will take root?

Wherever I am in the world, I always go for the local, independent establishments. That is where you invariably find the most authentic food.

Still, unless I am in area where there is nothing else available, I avoid chain restaurants.

The very last place I would go anywhere in the world would be a McDonalds in any case. I don't eat it at home even.

Eating local is all well and good.

But if u r in a another country where yr grasp of the language isnt up to par, OR the local health standards may be below par, ( Insert Mexico here ), finding a "local Burger King or Colonel Sanders can save the day AND your health.

When you step into a MCDonalds, you know exactly what you are getting whether it's in mid - town Mahhatan, or Mexico City, or Sevilla, Spain.

Keith, while I understand and agree in principal with your comment, It's because I know exactly what I'm getting in McDonalds, wherever I go in the world, that I don't go into them. I really dislike the stuff the serve as 'food'

I personally dislike the current Italian government as much as I like this sandwhich. I think fast food restaurants should start serving healthier options and not dressing the unhealthy option as the new and interesting thing

There is an obsetity problem. Marketing and product development needs to be colorful and responsible (one mark here) and resposible. I am done complaining about McDonalds. They have done nothing to appeal to me.
