Blame your glass for too much beer drinking
If your pints seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate take a closer look at the glass you’re drinking from, which might be to blame according to a study from the University of Bristol.
The U.K. has seen an uptick in binge drinking and problems associated with overconsumption of alcohol, though politicians have been wary of instituting policies that could curb the practice, so experimental psychologist Angela Attwood and her team thought making people more aware of their intake levels might do the trick.
What they found was that people who drank from fluted glasses consumed faster than those who drank from straight ones, and subjects more often misjudged the amount of alcohol in fluted glasses.
She suggests glasses be clearly marked with a halfway point, but those marks could become pretty hard to see through a hefty set of beer goggles.
