When Randy Cox was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, his 6-year-old son, Drew, wanted to find a way to help his dad pay for treatment. The Gladewater, Texas kindergardener decided to set up a lemonade stand in front of the family’s house, selling cups for 25 cents each. Word about Drew’s efforts spread around town and big-hearted folks started showing up and opening their wallets. By the end of their day, Drew had raked in $10,000, including $5,000 from one generous donor.
“He is so important to me. We like to play with each other. Lots of times we like to play games,” Drew said of his dad to a local television station.
