Surgeons can now safely and effectively operate inside the human brain through a small incision in the natural creases of an eyelid.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University who have performed the procedure on more than a dozen patients say that gaining access to the skull and brain through either lid sharply contrasts with the more laborious, physically damaging and invasive, traditional brain surgery that requires opening the top half of the skull.
