Brooklyn man building LEGO version of his neighborhood
Brooklyn resident Jonathan Lopes has a love for LEGOs and a love for his neighborhood, combine the two together and you end up with…*drumroll*…LEGO Brooklyn!
Using thousands of LEGO bricks and a keen eye for realistic aesthetics, Lopes fashioned neighborhood favorites like the Fairway in Red Hook and the Williamsburg Savings Bank. The bank building alone required 12,000 plastic bricks to construct.
The project began four years ago and, when completed, will be broken down for parts. The aforementioned bank building can currently be seen at a dry cleaners on Pacific Street.
