Where can I live on $1000 per month, and live well?

BBC turned to Quora to discover where in the world one could live a good life on under $1000 a month. The answer, predictably, isn’t in London or Tokyo, or in Toronto or Zurich, but in far-flung exotic places such as Bali and Latin America. Even some Eastern European countries make the list, with cheap beer being cited as a boon. I’d vote for that.
