10 Century-old prophesies that came true

Over one hundred years ago, John Elfreth Watkins predicted what life would be like a century after. Watkins, a civil engineer by trade, had a better idea of where technology was going than probably anyone reading the few magazines in which his prophesies appeared. In fact, the readers probably thought Watkins was a total nut. But as it turns out, Watkins was right about at least 10 things.

Take a look at one:

"Wireless telephone and telegraph circuits will span the world. A husband in the middle of the Atlantic will be able to converse with his wife sitting in her boudoir in Chicago. We will be able to telephone to China quite as readily as we now talk from New York to Brooklyn."

Keep in mind that this was fifteen years before the first phone call from coast-to-coast in the US.
