Chicago gets predatorial on rodents

If you’re wandering the streets of the Windy City late at night, don’t be surprised if you get a glimpse of the wild kingdom.

While suburbanites worry over their little dogs getting snatched by one of the ghosts of the prairies, Cook County has decided to use its coyote population to fight the rat problem. According to Chicago Commission on Animal Care and Control supervisor, Brad Block:

"He's not a threat ... he's not going to pick up your children…His job is to deal with all of the nuisance problems, like mice, rats and rabbits."

No doubt the carriage drivers are thrilled.
