Cosmetic surgery ads divided by class
A new study finds evidence of English class division in online advertising for Czech, Spanish, and Thai cosmetic surgery clinics.
The University of Leeds researchers find that the Spanish sites treated women “primarily as body parts”—mostly breasts, thighs, stomachs, buttocks and faces—with no photos of the complete body.
