Coupons drive consumer online shopping habits

Tons of Ecommerce News.

Coupon clipping is no longer limited to sitting down with a cup of coffee and the Sunday newspaper scouring the adverts for the best deals on toilet paper. The ever-increasing popularity of online shopping has moved bargain hunters to the internet in search of deals and a new survey suggests coupons dictate the shopping habits for nearly one-third of online shoppers. With 45 percent of online adults planning to drop less money this holiday season, it’s no wonder that coupons are hot on the mind. The Second Annual Benchmark Survey on Consumer Coupon Behavior uncovered some interesting data regarding virtual coupon clipping:

  • 62 percent of online adults seek out coupons for online retailers
  • 30 percent will not purchase items at an online store if they can’t track down a coupon
  • 22 percent will go to a different store to purchase the same item at a better price
  • Level of education also determined bargain seeking habits with 29 percent of college grads using coupon websites, compared to 24 percent of shoppers with some college and 20 percent of shoppers with an education level of high school or less.
  • The Midwest has the highest percentage of coupon users with 40 percent of online adults using websites or tools to score good deals.

Do you use online coupons regularly? Have you ever waited to purchase an item until you could find a coupon?

I think that's why CouponCabin.com and CheapUncle.com are so popular.

I don't think I've ever bought anything at full retail price in my life. (OK, maybe a few times, but it's definitely not the norm.) We have a full roundup of the best online coupon sites (by category!) over at the online magazine I run with some other fabulous bargainistas: ShoestringMag.com. To choose the right women perfume isn’t so easy and quickly. There are a lot of rules you have to observe. Women are so different one another that you have to realize some things. You have to pay attention for her personality and which flavor is best for her. There are thousands of variously fragrances and if you want to select the perfect scent, it can take up your time.

I use coupons regularly and this have been a huge save for my family. But i am realized that a quick price comparison can make a huge price difference. I have been using onewayshopping.com (http://www.onewayshopping.com) to compare prices just before i use the coupon.
