Cross stitching tells the story of Maggie and Mildred [video]

Cross stitching doesn’t usually rank as the coolest of the thread and yarn-based handicrafts, but Holly Klein may have upped its cool factor with a short film created with two cross stitched little girls named Maggie and Mildred. In speaking about the project, Klein commented:

It took me about nine months to stitch all of the elements. I stitched the house first, then made the characters with all of their parts and outfits separately. I then scanned everything into the computer, cut them out, and animated them in the computer. The whole process took me just under two years.
