Ged Galvin nearly died after a car crash and relied on a colostomy bag, but with the help of surgeons at the Royal London Hospital, Gavin has regained the ability to conduct his “business” on his own terms. Doctors implanted a cyborg sphincter and electrodes that allow Galvin to control his colon with a small remote. Galvin will need a tune-up every five years, but says he is thankful for the ability to “lead a normal life again.”
