Day 1: Getting to Vancouver
This was travel day to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics. It started, of all places, in Florida.
I left from this scene in Key Biscayne.
Flew through Dallas-Ft. Worth.
Thank you God: no line at immigration in Vancouver.
Holy kaw! GM Canada sent a car to pick me up! This is Lisa Calvi of Adventuredrive. GM didn’t just send “a driver.” He was Garry Sowerby, the “Indiana Jones of driving.” He holds a few world records for doing things like driving from the bottom of Africa to the top of Europe.
And it wasn’t any car. It was a hydrogen-powered car!
There was no traffic getting to downtown Vancouver.
This is the first time I’ve ever ridden in a hydrogen car. Very quiet. Very cool.
This collection of goodies was waiting for me in the room from my buddies at the British Columbia Ministry of Small Business, Technology, and Economic Development who run the InvestBC website.
All I can say is that if Sarah Palin becomes president of the United States, I’m going to move to Vancouver to be my with my buddies here. Going to Canada versus Norway and Russia versus Latvia tomorrow.
