Did Lady Gaga rip off Ace of Base? [video]

Remember Ace of Base? Tune your noggin back to the early 1990s and recall classic hits like “The Sign” and “All That She Wants” from a quartet of Swedes with a penchant for leather and highlights. Now, zip forward to 2010 and Ace of Base is the talk of the pop world once again over chatter that Lady Gaga ripped off the group’s 1994 single “Don’t Turn Around.” Judge for yourself in this clever mash-up of the two songs.

Just because two songs have a similiar BPM, rhythym, and instruments does it mean one ripped off another?

What if I make a chocolate cake in 60 minutes with eggs, flour, and sugar while beating it with an electric mixer? Does that mean it's going to be a rip off of the marble cake you made? No. There are so many other indgredients that go into a cake. Just like there are so many "ingredients" that go into a song.

Ace of Base is great. So is Lady Gaga. And if you see the video, you will see she takes inspiration from Madonna. I believe it's all an hommage - not a rip off.
