Looks like Kevin Rose may have found a way to steer the Digg ship back on course with a site overhaul that rumors say will include an aggregation of what’s hot on Twitter and Facebook.

Digg has chattered about a major overhaul for at least seven months (an eternity in internet years) and Rose has finally offered up a little tidbit on what the makeover will look like. Speaking on a recent This Week in Tech podcast, the Digg founder said, “If we’re seeing a trend on Twitter, we can map that to the best stories on Digg. And if there’s other things happening on Facebook and other networks, we want to be able to pull all that in.”

With Digg’s traffic dipping to half that of Twitter, it seems this “real-time Digg” couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
