Dip in the pond uncovers ancient Buddhist statues
Plenty of kids take to the local watering hole to cool off on a summer day, but while many may discover a toad or snapping turtle lurking near the banks, several Cambodian children hit the archaeological jackpot when they stumbled upon six ancient Buddhist sculptures.
Estimated to be around 1,000 years old, the statues have been moved to a local museum for further study, but this is sure to be one summer day those children never forget.
