I love examples of creative marketing! FMC corp once produced a fabulous 11"x17" stretch-out model of their aircraft container loaders which were aimed at the engineers who made purchase decisions. It had incredible detail and complexity. Displayed prominently was a notice that instructions could be found on reverse side. When you flipped it over there was a brief note that since most engineers don't read directions anyways so they didn't include any. The engineers found it funny and it was very effective...
