A popular method used by medical schools to interview and select students may give extroverts an edge over other personality types.

“Having a dominant personality type in medicine is a particular concern, since the field has many specialties and, within each, unique and important roles to fill,” says Anthony Jerant, a professor in the department of family and community medicine at the University of California, Davis.
