Early human ancestor looked like a shark
The common ancestor of all jawed vertebrates resembled a shark, according to a new analysis of a 290-million-year-old fossil fish.
“The common ancestors of all jawed vertebrates today organized their heads in a way that resembled sharks,” says vertebrate biologist John Finarelli, who worked with collaborators at the University of Chicago.
