Facebook pulls Roger Ebert’s page… again
Roger Ebert may have lost his ability to speak, but he definitely kept his voice. The jaw-cancer survivor has became an avid social media user since losing his ability to speak. Recently, however, he ran into a bit of trouble with the censors. Roger Ebert wrote the following tweet after Jackass star Ryan Dunn died in a car accident: “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.” He wrote this because, 2 hours before Dunn’s death, pictures of him drinking were posted on Facebook. For Dunn’s fans, the timing was poor. An argument erupted on Ebert’s Facebook page, harsh words were exchanged, and then the page was removed. Ebert didn’t like that. He complained, and the page was quickly restored. A Facebook spokesman simply said: “The page was was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
