Family sends weather balloon and HD camera to space
Forget family board game night, geeky experiments are way more fun than Uno. Luke Geissbuhler and his children built a contraption capable of space exploration! Using a weather balloon, an HD camera, a small parachute, an iPhone, and a whole lot of insulation, the crew successfully launched the craft 100,000 feet into blackness before the balloon burst, sending the camera back down to earth at a speed of 150 mph. It landed safely in a tree. Here's the footage it returned with:
