Finding the beauty in the ruins of Detroit
To say Detroit has fallen on hard times is the understatement of the century, but the patchwork quilt of glory and decay its tumultuous history has left behind was too intriguing for photographers Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre to resist.
This is but a sampling of the work from their 2010 book The Ruins of Detroit, an eerie reminder that there isn’t much difference between ancient ruins and those we’ve created within living memory.
