Firefox explains change to tabs on top [video]

Firefox 4 arrives on computers in the very near future, and the latest iteration of the popular browser will feature a slew of design and UI changes. One of the most talked about revamps is the move of tabs from below the address bar to on top, a la Chrome and Opera.

The debate over top versus bottom has gone on for years in the Firefox community, so the default setting switch will likely spark plenty of discussion and debate. Alex Faaborg of the User Experience design team at Mozilla explains the company’s decision for the switch in this seven minute video. Faaborg highlights the four key reasons for the new default setting and explains that users will still retain full control over their tabs’ location.
