Unfortunately, that fruitcake or crocheted tea cozy from Grandma can’t be returned for cash or exchanged for a sweet pair of shoes, but if your gifts were purchased at major retailers, you may be in luck if you follow the return policy.
Wallet Pop has created a handy guide to making returns at popular websites and stores to save you time that could be spent getting stuff you really want. While stores like JCPenney, Kmart and Ikea have ninety-day return windows with the receipt, places like Amazon and Barnes and Noble may only provide a thirty-day time frame, so it’s worth your while to read the fine print.
