Giant volcano eruptions may build quickly
Enormous volcanic eruptions with the potential to end civilizations may have surprisingly short fuses, researchers have discovered.
“Our study suggests that when these exceptionally large magma pools form they are ephemeral and cannot exist very long without erupting,” says Vanderbilt University researcher Guilherme Gualda.
