Following negative reactions to an internally-circulated memo discouraging employees from using the word Chevy, Chevrolet is re-assuring both employees and consumers that the auto brand still values the popular nickname. G.M. released a statement saying that as Chevrolet expands internationally, they want to move toward a consistent brand name. They also admitted the memorandum was poorly worded.
So go ahead proud Chevrolet drivers, continue referring to your wheels as your precious Chevy. They won’t mind.
