Google Exec: Buzz is not a Facebook or Twitter killer

In a recent article by eweek, Bradly Horowitz, vice president of product management for Google, casts Buzz as a unique social networking services that fills a niche separate from Twitter and Facebook. When eweek asked him if Buzz was a Twitter and Facebook killer, he responded:

Absolutely not. Per what I just said, this is creating a new category of communication. It’s filling a niche, which is not currently met in the market. I think something unique is happening on Buzz that will continue to evolve. It’s hard to create a trend line or extrapolate too much from six days of use, but certainly conversation and the conversational Web is a place where Buzz has excelled.

Google Buzz cannot be the killer of Twitter and Facebook because of quite different approaches it has to audience! If Buzz does a good job in getting that niche remains to be seen.

Google Buzz truly is distinct from fb and twitter.. it comes where you have email chat at one stop. It also brings other advantages like location based posting and autofollowing.. not much to say with just 6 days of buzzing..
