Great satellite photo of England under snow
You may have heard that Europe is cold and getting lots of snow. The above photo was taken today (Jan. 7, 2010) and shows Great Britain covered in snow. Brrr…

Like it or not, much of the world thinks of Great Britain as England and writing England is shorter than writing Great Britain. :-)
The satellite photo is from NASA:

i'm looking at this from australia, its quite sad though how the scottish think their comments are necessary or indeed wanted. we all know you exist, stop feeling left out all the time.
nice pic all the same
At the end of the day, we have to appreciate this picture for what it is. and that is showing Great Britain, United Kingdom, Is covered in the white stuff, no not coccain I mean snow.
The thing that adds injury to insult is that you recognise the fact that a large number of people refer to Great Britain as England and you still decide to reinforce this mistake by titling as you have. To be frank if it was posted as it was due to ignorance then it wouldn’t have bothered me but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Can the post not be changed?
Yes It's shorter to type England than Great Britain but it’s also shorter too type picture of Britain under snow. It’s also the same amount of characters to type picture of Great Britain under snow. Why does it have to be shorter anyway?
In conclusion I don’t think you would post a picture of the U.S.A and give it the title of picture of 13 states of America even although all states are visible. This title is inaccurate.
This is England, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Northern Irleand a bit of Ireland
is this France and Belgium at right side
oh wait you forgot clouds and water
some people have problems
What is wrong with the title? You see England under snow.
And other things.
He obviously knows it's Great Britian as he's written it in the caption. You wouldn't write every state of Australia now would you? Although you may write, 'Ayers Rock under snow', simply because it would be a rarity.
The picture is amazing so stop moaning and admire it for what it is!
Nature at it's best! Just wish i was back in Wales to appreciate it!
(By the way, yur friend, I think they mean Fahrenheit, not Celsius - how could anyone be so insensitive to geopolitical reality?) ;-)
Now get over it because you wouldn't have half the things you do today without your dear friend England!
Jocose pedantry aside, here's hoping we get an equivalently outstanding summer picture, when the whole of ... of ... of the landmass is completely clear of any cloud.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Ireland since 1900 ad was 32.5 decrees C during the blistering summer of1976. (That's Just about 90 degrees F).
The Irish nation nearly melted away in the heat.
...Who said Germany looks white? Mario & Ulf, pay attention, chaps...
