Happy Marmot Day, Alaska!
For so long, Alaska had to suffer silently as the lower 48 celebrated Groundhog’s day, completely oblivious to Alaska’s dearth of that particular rodent. Fortunately for Alaskans, the score has finally been settled. Before “going rogue,” Sarah Palin signed a bill into law making Feb. 2 Marmot Day. The groundhog’s monopoly on critter-themed holidays is broken!
