Harry Potter’s big screen farewell debuts Friday, but that doesn’t mean Pottermania will close up shop any time soon. Case in point: a Potter-themed art exhibit at the Gallery Nucleus just outside Los Angeles.
“The thing that I really noticed about this exhibit is that most everybody who contributed is a fan,” gallery curator Wade Buchanan commented to LA Times. “Every piece has some kind of endearing quality to me. It’s not just somebody that was like, ‘Oh, I’m just going to do a themed piece on Harry Potter.’ You can tell that they’re sincerely a fan, and they’re inspired by it. It’s like little details in the pieces that stand out, that maybe only fans would really pay attention to.”
The Harry Potter Tribute Exhibition features 100 paintings, sculptures and installations collected over the past couple years. The exhibit will run until August 1, 2011, so hop on that broomstick in a flash, Potterheads.
