Acclaimed Japanese filmmaker and animator Hayao Miyazaki wants nothing to do with the iPad, or really any technology whatsoever. Miyazaki has admitted to being a bit of a technophobe, preferring pencil and paper to email and not owning a computer or DVD player.

In a recent interview with Neppuu, Miyazaki shared his disdain for the popular Apple gadget, referring to it as the “game machine-type thing,” and comparing the common touch-screen flick gesture to masturbation:

“For me, there is no feeling of admiration or no excitement whatsoever. It’s disgusting. On trains, the number of those people doing that strange masturbation-like gesture is multiplying.”
