How a UCLA professor gives 'cell phone' a whole new meaning
When UCLA professor, Aydogan Ozcan, cracked open a digital camera a few years ago, he never imagined he’d end up inventing an incredible technology that could reduce the need for expensive microscopes and eventually change the way diseases are diagnosed. Ozcan’s invention enables rapid imaging of cells without using any lenses, using only the imaging sensor of a cell phone. The imaging sensor captures a holographic image of the cells containing more information than a conventional microscope. The CelloPhone has reveived a Wireless Innovations Award from Vodafone.
Check it out below! Fascinating stuff.
