How music helps you exercise

If you’ve stuffed yourself today, you might want to read about the impact of listening to music while you exercise. According to Costas Karageorghis from Brunel University, four factors the influence a song’s ability to help you run: rhythm response, musicality, cultural impact, and association.

More interesting findings: subjects who cycled to music required 7% less oxygen; people who ran to synchronized music experienced a 15% increase in endurance; and people increase or decrease effort and pace to match the tempo of music.

More help running, cycling, and fitness.

Thanks for the mention, Guy! Remember, you get another slice of pie for every 5 miles you run! :-)
